Michael Krell has been working as a full-time triathlon coach since 2010 and is based in Germany. His athletic career started in childhood, with ski jumping, and while in university he played lacrosse, competing at the national level. His passion for the triathlon was kindled when he participated in his first triathlon in 2005, and in 2008 he did Ironman Hawaii. His personal best at Challenge Roth is a time of 8:47hrs.

He now combines his knowledge of triathlons with his joy of writing. His many books and articles are about efficient triathlon training, especially for athletes working full time. He wants athletes to get the most out of their training in a minimum amount of time. He shares his extensive triathlon know-how and coaches athletes of all levels, helping them to achieve new personal bests.

Michael Krell wuchs in den achtziger Jahren in Waldenburg auf. Seine sportliche Karriere begann bereits im Kindesalter beim Skispringen. Nach seinem Abitur zog er nach Bamberg und studierte dort Europäische Wirtschaft. Für Bamberg spielte er in der deutschen Lacrosse Bundesliga. Inmitten seines zweijährigen Auslandsaufenthalts an der University of Canterbury (Neuseeland), den er mit einem MBA abschloss, kam er mit seiner späteren Passion, dem Triathlonsport, in Berührung.

Im Jahr 2008 startete er zum ersten Mal bei der Ironman-Weltmeisterschaft auf Hawaii. Seine Bestzeit auf der Triathlon-Langdistanz (3,8km Schwimmen, 180km Radfahren u. 42,2km Laufen) liegt derzeit bei 8:47 Stunden. Während dieser Zeit entdeckte er auch den Spaß am Schreiben. Neben zahlreichen Beiträgen in Blogs und Fachzeitschriften (Triathlon Magazin, tritime, Loox Sportmagazin, tri-mag.de, triathlonworld.com, etc.), folgte 2010 das erste Buch "Triathlon für Berufstätige".show less
